Launching with Love: Support for Families and Young Adults Navigating Unconventional Paths
Two Separate Groups — Thirteen Weeks — Practical Skills, Stronger Connections, Greater Peace of Mind
Fall Series Starts Tuesday, September 16 for parent's group,
Thursday, Sept 18 for young adult's group
11am EDT (New York time) for 90 mins each session
If your family’s journey doesn’t look like the “typical” path—if your older teen or young adult is facing mental health challenges, physical differences, or simply moving into adulthood in their own way—this program is designed for you. Find empathetic guidance, tailored support, and a community who understands what unconventional launching really means.
Parents: You want your older teen or young adult to step into the world at a pace that feels right for them—and you want to be sure they have the support they need. But what does that support actually look like for your unique child? What if they don’t fit the typical path society or even you had expected for this stage of life? If this feels familiar, you’re not alone—and this program is designed for you.
We see how hard it can be to balance wanting to protect your child with letting them grow, especially when their journey is different or more complex. Maybe your child faces mental health challenges, physical disabilities, learning differences, or identities that make them feel unlike “the norm.” And you likely feel the weight of not knowing how best to support them—or yourself—during this transition.
Launching with Love offers a space where you can connect with other parents who truly get what you’re experiencing and gain practical, compassionate tools tailored to your family’s needs. Because when you feel supported and understood, it becomes easier to help your young adult find their own way forward—at their pace, with care and confidence.
Older Teens/ Young Adults: If you’re facing challenges that make life harder—whether it’s anxiety, depression, social anxiety, or physical health issues like diabetes, epilepsy, or Lyme’s disease—you’re not alone. Maybe you have a diagnosis such as autism, ADD, ADHD, or learning differences. Or perhaps you identify as LGBTQIA+. Sometimes it feels like your parents just don’t fully understand what you need right now, even though they truly want to support you. You might also recognize that they need support too. When your parents get the help they need, it can be easier for everyone to get on the same page and move forward together.
How this works
Launching with Love offers two separate groups—one for parents and one for older teens/young adults who are in various stages of moving into the world. Each group meets once a week for 90 minutes over 13 weeks.
In these sessions, participants explore relevant topics, practice new skills in a safe and supportive environment, and discuss what’s happening in their lives right now. This is a small, focused container designed to provide personalized support.
Whether you’re a parent of a child with unique needs or an older teen/young adult facing special challenges, you’ll find a group that speaks to your experience.
Between sessions, group members can connect with one another for additional support and community. Each group will choose the platform that works best for their communication—such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Discord, or a private forum—with the goal of fostering lasting friendships beyond the course.
Both groups follow the same weekly themes, but the discussions and context are tailored to each group’s unique experiences. The shared topics also encourage meaningful conversations between parents and their older teens or young adults outside of group meetings, while maintaining separate spaces to honor each group’s distinct needs.
What makes this experience unique?
-Space for parents to learn and connect with other parents in the same stage of life.
-Space for older teens and young adults with special concerns about launching to connect with each other in a supportive environment.
-Understanding of other factors usually not explored- early life and birth imprints and how those impact milestones like moving into the world, mental and physical health challenges, diagnoses like ADD, ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, social anxiety, neurodivergence, LBGTQIA+ and how those can add extra challenges launching.
-Exploring transgenerational patterns, whole family system, and whole person solutions rather than focusing on one person as the "problem." Together we can find ways to move forward that support the whole family.
-The price of the course is for both parents and up to 2 children in the same family. We want to support your whole family to Launch with Love.
Why does this matter to us?
Rebecca is the mom of two young adults who both launched last year—though neither followed a conventional path. Like many parents in unconventional families, Rebecca has faced the complex balancing act of offering support while trusting her children to move confidently into adulthood. She wanted to parent differently than she had been parented: attuned to her sons’ unique needs and the family’s evolving dynamics. Easier said than done.
When Rebecca remarried and blended two older teens into the family, she quickly realized that parenting across these transitions required new skills and deeper understanding. Through trial and error—mistakes alongside successes—she discovered that supporting young adults navigating unconventional or challenging paths needs a fresh approach. Her boys were still young then, so by the time they reached this stage of development, Rebecca had built a foundation of knowledge about what parents and young adults truly need.
Professionally, Rebecca has spent over three decades working with young adults and their families, witnessing firsthand the struggles faced by parents when their children don't follow society’s “typical” roadmap. Many of these young adults deal with mental health challenges, physical differences, or trauma—including birth trauma—and often feel “different” or like something is wrong with them.
After many sessions—often working separately with both young adults and their parents from the same families—the idea for Launching with Love was born: a dedicated space for parents and young adults to find support simultaneously, honoring the whole family’s mental health and unique story.
Rebecca believes there is a better way to understand everyone’s needs, to honor the unique story unfolding in your family, and to find a new path forward—together, with love and connection. Because every young adult deserves to feel seen, supported, and prepared to launch into the world on their own terms.
